Tasting Notes:
Colour: purple red with Nasrid trimmings.
Nose: fresh notes of red and black fruits, such as blackberries and cherries, and balsamic notes of vanilla.
Palate: Balanced, with soft and pleasant tannin. Round and oily wine. Interesting blend of spicy touches with berries in the aftertaste.
Elaboration and Ageing:
Made with the varieties Tempranillo (95%), Cabernet Sauvignon (3%) and Merlot (2%) from 8 estates that make up the Finca Real Sitio de Ventosilla located in Gumiel de Mercado (Burgos) at an altitude of 813 meters above sea level. Manual harvesting, followed by cold pre-fermentation for 3 or 4 days. Then it goes on to ferment at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks for 15 days with autochthonous yeasts. Once the process has been completed, the wine is aged on its own lees for 3 months in European and American oak barrels and 5 months in the bottle.
Curiosities:
A winery with history: Its quality has history and some of its vines are more than one hundred years old. The winery was sold to Queen Isabel la Católica in 1503. Carlos I donated it to the Marquis of Denia. In 1600, the Royal Palace was built there. The royalty took over the winery until the 19th century, when it passed into the hands of the Duke of Caldas. In 1921, it passed definitively to private individuals.
"Diario de León"Audacious and seductive. It was a pioneer because it marked the path to follow in the nobility of Ribera del Duero wine. Today, seventeen years later, 'PradoRey Roble' is the star of a second oenological revolution, but it is still a young, daring, energetic, restless and audacious red wine. And, let's admit it, a seductive point
