CURIOSITIES
The name of this wine comes from the Molar area, currently made up of 17 hectares spread over three vineyards planted in different soils and orientations. The blend of these three vines provides complexity, freshness and typicity to this Jumillan Grenache.
The main novelty of El Molar is its ageing, which after malolactic fermentation in barrels to reduce excess acidity, is done in foudres, large wooden tanks, where it is aged for a long time and which, thanks to less contact with the wood, favours a slower and longer oxygenation. The use of frudre is very common with reductive varieties, such as the wines of the Rhône, in southeastern France, or the Nebiolo wines of Italian Piedmont.
