CURIOSITIES
Dominio de Valdepusa occupies an area of 50Ha, which includes the original vineyard of "Cabernet Sauvignon" vines planted in 1974. From there, it was progressively expanded with the varieties "Syrah", "Petit Verdot" and "Graciano".
The main house and the winery are located in historic buildings of the eighteenth century.
The central courtyard, of classic Toledo architecture, houses a winery in which visitors can experience the traditional system of treading the grapes at harvest time.
The aging room, with capacity for 2,000 Bordeaux barrels, is entirely underground. In it, cleaning, temperature control and the absence of oxygen in virtually all post-fermentation operations are strictly observed.
Only new or pre-owned French oak barrels from allier are used and efforts are made to minimize interventions, avoiding unnecessary racking, leaks or clarifications.
