Vineyards and Elaboration
Wine made 100% with the Albariño variety from the 70 hectares of the vineyard of the estate itself. This vintage is characterised by its balance in the mouth.
The wall that surrounds the estate also encloses the eleven south-facing estates that make up the 70 hectares of own vineyards of Bodegas Fillaboa: Monte Alto, Vía, Terneros, Castro, Socalcos, Antigua, Miño, Eucalyptus, Río, Carasol and Las Nieves.
The vineyard is planted entirely with the Albariño variety. The slender Albariño vines, trained on trellises and vines, dot the small plots of land, forming a puzzle of vineyards. The richness of its well-drained and adequately composed soils, together with the rainy Atlantic climate with its mild temperatures, make Fillaboa a privileged place for the cultivation of vines.
After the manual harvest in Fillaboa, they carry out the de-stemming process which separates the grapes from the stems and then passes to the pneumatic press where the grapes are gently pressed until an excellent quality must is obtained. This must is cooled down to 12ºC to carry out later, after a good debourbage, the alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel tanks under a strict control of temperatures that must be kept between 14 and 18ºC.
This constant temperature control allows Fillaboa to obtain fruity, very aromatic wines, where the qualities obtained throughout the year are expressed. The structure of the wines will be a faithful reflection of factors such as the soil, the climate, the background fertilisers and correctors, as well as the careful care taken during production and the principles of good grapes, cleanliness and patience.
After fermentation, the musts are subjected to necessary processes such as racking, cold stabilisation, filtration and finally bottling.
Tasting Note:
Yellow colour with good golden touches, brilliant. On the nose it has very intense aromas of white and yellow fruits, fine and aromatic herbs, floral and citrus touches, also earthy touches.
In the mouth it is fresh and very fruity, the passage of mouth quite balanced and with very good acidity, floral, fruit and herbaceous memories, the end is very long and with very good persistence.
