CURIOSITIES
Located in San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in the heart of Rioja Alta, this winery is located in a region where excellence and quality are essential signs of identity, both in its production methods and in its renowned wines. The D.O.Ca. Rioja is a prestigious label in which Bodega CM de Matarromera is located.
The town of San Vicente de la Sonsierra, in addition to being famous for its traditional Easter snacks, is one of the most prominent in the wine scene and enjoys international recognition. It is located to the northwest of La Rioja and borders Álava through the Sierra Cantabria. Its soils and its peculiar climate are largely responsible for the quality of its wines, since the sierra causes the "Foehn" effect that protects the vineyards from the cold winds coming from the north, full of humidity after caressing the Cantabrian Sea.
