The soils are a mixture of clays, granites, quartz and gneiss with a great capacity to retain the water that falls between autumn and spring.
At Castúo Wines they work with local farmers to work the land and take care of the plants to obtain the best fruits with the highest quality.
They grow local varieties, acclimatized to the soil and climate conditions of the region. These varieties are Pardina and Eva, as whites, and Morisca, Trincadeira and Alicante Bouschet as reds.
Arrebujao is a white wine made from typical varieties of the Tierra de Barros. Its elaboration is carried out in an artisanal way with minimal intervention, ending with 1 month of aging in jars. Its name is due to the fact that 3 varieties from Extremadura have been mixed (arrebujao).
Ciringoncia is a sparkling wine of very limited production made using the ancestral method with minimal intervention. Made with the native Morisca variety and aged for 4 months in rima. "Ciringoncia" means juggling, a word used to refer to a job that has proved difficult to do.
Envejao is a white wine made in the traditional way with Pardina, a typical grape from Extremadura that has good acidity and great resistance to the passage of time and oxidation. Aged for 18 months in Montilla fino casks under a veil of flowers, hence its name "Envejao". A rich, aromatic and persistent wine that will surprise you.
